Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC Fisheye HSM vs. Tokina AF 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 AT-X DX Fisheye
which one will u pick? prime lens with f2.8? zoom lens but f3.5? ![]()

oh come on, half a stop isn't that much of a difference - it's not as if it's f/2.8 versus f/4. neither is the zoom versus no zoom.
i think what one would be more interested in is the amount of distortion each lens gives. for example, you compare the pentax 10-17 (similar to tokina, but not exactly) distortion result here versus nikon's 10.5mm fisheye prime.. here. to me it looks like the distortion is more pronounced in the latter. and that's what fisheye is about. once again, you are likely to use it to take landscapes and architecture more than anything else - so why quibble about the need for speed when you'd have a tripod and your subjects are not likely to move much? similarly, if you "zoom", fisheye effect is lost - might as well switch to normal lens then. |
