Dun understand why they dont allow using DSLR since its stated photography w/o flash is allowed.

I got dismissed from the concert one song from the end by an usher. No warning whatsoever. Am really furious. If there were so many people with PnS cameras recording videos and triggering flash non-stop, I don't see what the problem is with our DSLRs that can take only stills.

eh you can try taking it up with the concert organisors. Cause it is clearly stated no flash photography allowed, and you weren't breaking that rule. Its probably some over zealous usher. So get compensated for missing part of the concert you paid to attend

Done, some error with my uploading just now. I have already called up both midas and SIS to seek redress on this issue. I'll see what they come back to me with. The way in which we were dismissed was also uncalled for; no chance to stop taking photos/explain, etc at all. I'm probably gonna demand for a refund of sorts.

yeah thats good. the should at least give you a chance to stop shooting if they wanted you to stop.

That's exactly what I told them when I called them for clarification this morning. I told them that a camera to me is a camera, all the balah about DSLRs being labelled as "pro cams" is just plain ridiculous especially since DSLRs are becoming so much more affordable these days. I actually called both Midas (spoke to an ang moh, apparently the marketing and sponsorship manager) as well as the head of security of SIS. I'm know awaiting their replies as they need to do some "investigations".

Man I was there too but didn't bring my dslr, as i expected security to stop me from shooting.
Didn't really enjoy the show, this small gal from behind me was screaming high frequency glass breaking tones that greatly affected my mood and have to cover my ears each time she screms haha

I regretted that I never fixed my 70-300...

It was an excellent concert.
