    Default External Hard Drive

My Maxtor's suddenly had to die on me.
I just can't read the files when i plug it
in my cpu. All my impt doc and photos in.
I really don't know how or what virus made
    my files corrupted.

Does anyone knows in any way, how to
    recover those files back?
    Your help is really appreciated.

    Is the motor working?

You can't detect the HDD or the files are corrupted? If it's the last one, then you may have some chance. Look for Getbackdata.

May help u retrieve some of the files which are not damaged.

Else send it to the professionals, but be warned. The COST is high....

Yeah its blinking. Does this shows this isn't wiring fault?

Go and see Hari at Sim Lim Square #03-24. He's just helped me recover data from a similar failed HDD situation. His charges are reasonable.

Remove the hard disk from the casing, and plug it into the computer directly. It's probably the casing.

Not all the time, most of the time it will still be able to light up but will not be able to detect. Try changing the cable first. If still cant detect most prob have to bring down to service centre.
