Default Dolly love.

Still really new to photography, my 1st post so far.
So far, I've been only, pretty much, shooting my dolls on table top, with a table lamp.
I've seen alot of the fellow flickrs doing really well, with great colours, lighting, sharp and crisp pictures.
I understand they used macro lenses but I guess I won't be able to get one so soon.
I'm actually considering to get myself a speedlight but was wondering if it's neccessary and also, will I be able to achieve the results I would like.
Btw I usually shoot during night, in my room, with no natural sunlight.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to get natural sunlight around my house.
Ok I think I should start going out to shoot.

Comments are welcomed =)

hey,
do take note: part of the doll's left eye is being cut-off from the frame. do remember not to do that in your future shots.
this goes for the doll's left hand as well

actually I had a hard time deciding if I should use the one I've posted or this
May I know if this is better? Though I understand some parts of the doll are still cut-off.

Hmm I think maybe he meant that I should have also shown all of the doll's hands and face?

elaborate? okie

what is the main objective of this shot? the doll right? so most of the doll's face should be included in the picture right? as such the picture will look funny if one part of the eye is cut out from the frame right? that was why i mentioned that it would be better if he had moved his camera such a way that the whole eye can be included in the shot.

TS, the chopping of the figurie here and there would not work. Regardless if you are shooting humans, or other things, please do not abruptly chop of one of their features. It would cause great dis-taste to the ppl viewing it.
