    Yes it is a full frame lens but go read about it performance on a FX body.

    Yes, it is a full-frame lens. It can work on a D700 in FX mode.

    To summarise, the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR is not a DX lens.

    While there are some (minimal) compromise on FX, from the pictures I see on PBASE and flickr, the corner fall-offs / vignetting problems are way overblown -- as a matter of fact, almost all existing lens (with maybe a few exceptions / the newer releases) "don't make it".

    As always with Nikon nowadays, rumours abound ... talk of an update for the said lens.

    Then again, is there a point in waiting.
