hi,
planing to buy a nikon lens from US online. my question is when they courier the lens to singapore. would the item be taxed gst?? thanks the lens are worth abt US$500. ![]() |

Yes.... anything beyond $400 SGD must include GST. Some ppl here have a way to get pass that.... not sure how. I have my Brother bring my L lens back from the states because he was on a Bussiness Trip. Hid it inside his luggage to avoid GST. ![]() |

I bought a Canon 300mm f2.8 lens from B&H several months ago, it was shipped UPS and on delivery I paid GST. Even with the shipping charges & GST the savings were considerable. At least with Canon, if you don't buy gray market in the US they will locally honor the warranty, don't know about Nikon.

It will be taxed. Do take the shipping costs and GST into consideration for items that potentially do not give u alot of savings from buying overseas. Ryan |
