Default What generally do you use your 70-200/2.8 zoom for?

Hi,

I have noticed that 70/80-200 2.8 zooms almost always draw the most attention from photographers.

What do you as owners of these big lenses use them for? What events or occassion do you generally emplot them.

Just want to raise a discussion point to compare notes.

good for portraits, event coverage... i find it a very good all-purpose range.

i even use it for macro (with an extension tube of course...)!

For event photography where I can't position my camera right in front of my subject's face.

Yes, but only if it's your style to shoot at that range. Excellent for capturing expressions from a distance w/o being noticed, w/o flash. Problem is lugging it around - can get tiring after a few hours.
