Hey Guys,
Here is a picture of a Rainbow Lorikeet taken at Jurong Bird Park a little while ago. It was an unfortunately cloudy day but these little guys were, as is their way, as noisy and curious as always! This little fellow spent about 10 minutes sitting demurely on my shoulder, completely ignoring everything around him. In the end he walked down my arm and out onto the branch where he looked at the end of the camera with seemingly great interest. I wonder what was going through his little head? The shot was taken with a Nikon D60 at 200mm, f/5.6, ISO100. ![]() Thanks for viewing! ![]()

It is shot at 200mm, but you shot it at 1/20.
Probably that's why it looks soft. |

Yea, it was a pretty dark day. I probably should have cranked up the ISO a little because, as you point out, the VR couldn't quite keep the softness out of the image. Thanks for the constructive comments!

It's safe to say that even if VR had corrected the shake, any (slight) movements (and birds do twitch a lot) will result in slight softness.
Other that that, I think composition wise it is quite sound. Colours are a bit flat, but PP will fix that. On the whole I think you're very very fortunate to have been able to come so close to it. ![]() |
