Hi, I have this lens, I used it mainly portraits now.

The build quality is really solid, feel shiok in my hands.
AF speed is ok to me, not using to shoot sports. For macro and portraits its ok.

Although my skill is not there yet to bring out the len's full potential, I am posting some photos taken for your reference

Thanks for showing your pictures as reference but do you think it is worth to dump my nikon 60mm for this lens?

Keep ur 60 mm. I think ur 60 mm will be sharper with much better contrast.

nikon 105VR! hohoho

P.S- i'm not a nikon 'purist' or fanboy.. but i've seen tons of photos taken with it on flickr...it really is a sharp, contrasty lens!

P.P.S- i can't afford it so i'm getting a Sigma 150mm for more 'reach'

you sld look out on in-depth review of CA/color for this kind of macro lens. sharpness and contrast are usually controlled extremely well on macro lenses of all brands at that focal length. One might be better than the other, but definitely not much to get worried about

U are welcome.

If you want more reach, u can consider the Tokina, Sigma 105mm and Nikon 105mm.

I am even considering a 150mm macro from Sigma. For the more comfortable distance away from the subject. Most probably get it in HK next month.
