What shud the expected second hand price be and what shud we look out for when we want to buy this cam second hand? Thanks alot...

hm..... you the guy who posted the wtb E-10/E-20 thread....
anyway i just got my E-10.... and ammoxx77 soon will be here to bombard you with anti E-10 propaganda but never mind the final desision is up to you i ain't no avocate of the camera either.... one thing's for sure i notice straigth away... the flash recharges much faster than my old C-4000z or now my backup cam C-4040z.... about 2 - 3 secs to recharge... quitte fast... and there is the TTL opertaion blah blah blah i'm sure you've heard it and read reviews about it but in the end you the user must see your needs and justify the cost vs performance. Like i don't mind grain it's ok... don't need super sharp pictures... and i don't have money to get a 10D so here i am with a E-10 sweet simple no need worry about lenses. and if i really need the speed to cover events and stuff i hold 2 cams at one go .... hehe.. E-10 + C-4040z no need to wait for any buffers / batt charging anymore haha... maybe you should get yourself a E-10 hands on see shoot somethings and load it ont oyour com and see for yourself if you like the pictures which come out of the E-10. at first when i first got it i saw the pictures to be dull.... but after some simple post processing TADA! it just came to life.... as you must have read the pictures comes out quite neutral. wow so much to say... wonder if ammox77 posted anything already... ![]()

Ask yourself, "why" you want a E-10 and see if there are any cheaper alternatives with the same or better attributes.

Well, believe it or not, I felt that the autofocusing of the E20 is better and faster than the Canon D60, and the same as 10D which currently I am using.
E20 with its built-in 35-135mm f/2.0-2.4 zoom lens, while on the 10D with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6, not forget the 1.6X multi factor which naturally become 45-216mm, not really wide, and 17-35mm f/2.8 would be 28-56mm, but only f/2.8 while E20 is f/2.4 at 135mm Another reason, you DO NOT have any dirt problem like most DSLR users faced. You can't beat the price of maintenance. With the 10D, I have to get around two to three high-end lenses to equal the range on the E20. 1. 17-35mm f/2.8L 2. 70-200mm f/2.8L 3. 50mm f/1.8 The only con about the E20 is the writing speed. But it has a 4fps advantage. But with the 512 RiData CF, it is really all right for most shoot. |

If you are not ready to invest in lenses system, E20 is the best DSLR. In fact, E20 works truly like a SLR, ie. TTL optical viewfinder, and optional LCD while fixed lenses. You would never go wrong with E20. And the skin color tone is so good, even without correction from PS.
E10/E20 c/w 35-140mm f/2.0-2.4. It is convenient, and suitable for all occasion, and travel. That's what I brought to Shanghai trip early this year, but for my recently HK trip, I really regret bringing the 10D with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6. Reason for f/stop not bright enough for night shoot. And it is so troublesome to bring more than 1 lenses when travelling, and changing them as and when required. Read comments from the Pro below, Suggest that you read more about the E20... http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/mtp_index.asp |

and for the topic wat to look for in a second hand camera....
the lense is one of the major factor to look in the camera... cause it's as impt as the CCD itself(digital only).... check for scratches and marks. i got my e-10 from weg which looks like new and he said it's dunno how many users before mi before i got it... but don't take it if it's too old. cause the shutter itself has a lifespan. after a while it bound to fail.

I have owned an E20 before.
Believe you me...it's AF is very fast due to the bright lens (f2.0-f2.4) Skin tones is excellent but the writing speed is one horrible thingy. Hey, but think about this...it's the cheapest DSLR around. Buy it and o need to think about lens, about dirty CCD. You can focus in total darkness, something my 10D cannot do. It's also very robust with full magnesium body. You can see my pics taken with E20... I changed because I knew it's price will crash with the E1. In addition, the 35-140 is limited in the zoom end although I bought the Tcon-14B. |
