Default Singapore Fireworks Fest. My take.

My very very first time taking fireworks,

i know there are little heads, couldnt get a good enough spot and the first one my camera facing wrong direction!. Funny thing tho, i was wondering how everyone knew when the fireworks were going to go off. See everyone like so relax, i was quite the spider haha. Then found out can hear faint countdown. duh. And thank you to the kind brother (if you happen to be in this forum) whom i asked how to use the black card technique. lol

Thanks! This was what i used.

Exposure: Bulb
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 30 mm
ISO Speed: 100

actually i read about it here. But no hands on so i asked a nice fella. This is more or less what he told me, " Once u release the shutter let it expose the background for about 10 sec, then use the black card to cover the lens, when the fire works go off just take of the card expose for 2 - 4 sec then cover back". So thats what i did. lol

The fireworks are nicely taken. Consider using a wider angle lens will be better so that you won't have your fireworks chopped off from your picture.

Hi, could i clarify something? He said
" Once u release the shutter let it expose the background for about 10 sec, then use the black card to cover the lens, when the fire works go off just take of the card expose for 2 - 4 sec then cover back"
So, correct me if i'm wrong, means that once you press down and let go of the shutter then let it be exposed to the background but once you release the shutter i thought that there is'nt suppose to be any more "light' going into the camera?
Also, if i misunderstood that last statement and it actually works fine, would't just removing the card there and then leave your picture un-focused?
Pardon the really noob questions, lol, cause i'm just a noob seeking clarification.

lol, yea 17 - 40 isnt wide enough on the crop. First time taking either didnt expect the fireworks to go that high, not like NDP ones quite low. Caught me off guard. haha. Theres always next time!

nooboy:using bulb mode once you trigger the shutter it'll be open until you trigger it again, so if you're done using the black card to expose the fireworks you can close the shutter, or if you wanna get more into the shot then just recover the lens with the black card. lol hope that helps, i'm also new. dont worry
