I got mine from TagoTech.com for under 30 bucks... local la, more convenient and faster. Everything's similar but the inner side, instead of having black felt/fabric like the original, it has matt finishing.

A hood is a hood, and 3rd party is OK. Price is cheap (compared to original), but difference in quality can be seen in close range. Get from eBay.

No brand... ebay sells reasonable quality knock offs of the original (including the fuzz on the inner side of the hood) that serve the same function. Finishing is a little rough though.

would like to set the record straight here.

Ebay DOES NOT sell items.

People/vendors sell their stuff on Ebay. Ebay charges them a fee to list their items, similar to Classified Ads.

So if you go Ebay to look for an item, you do not know how reliable the seller is (take the ratings with a HUGE pinch of salt), or how reliable the item is instead.

i think most netizens here wud know what eBay is; and for convenience for people wud say "i bought from ebay".

yes, price vs performance will apply and it's a universal truth, whether one buys from the net or from shop. pay peantus and you get monkeys...but to some, monkeys are really what's required or good enough. i'd not buy a lens or camera body from net, but getting basic low-cost assessories are just fine...
