Sorry I just had to make a thread out of this... I spent the last 2 hours searching online for a shops with stock. I called 3 shops already and they are out.
The ones I found were 3rd party ones, are they good enough? is there actually a difference? hope this thread will also help those planning to buy this lens |

I using 3rd party one though. Just that it a big tight. I gotta sand down a bit for easy removal and no felt. Other den tat, is just a piece of plastic over your lens.

Mine got from tagotech.com. True it's a little tight and is just a piece of matt plastic but hey, its $28 ($CP-M was quoting me $70 plus). Can't ask for more.

Its too wide for the 17-55mm. Stray light still can enter from the side. The hood for 17-40 is actually meant for FF camera.

there is a purpose for the felt material at the inner sider of the hood. that is to prevent light from bouncing off that surface and ended up on the lens. that's why you see a hood will have a matt surface at the very very least.
