Leaked on Canon China website. There's no point in providing the link 'cos it's been taken down.
However, according to the translation, these are the specs: 1.6x crop 15.1MP Digic 4 Dust Reduction Auto Brightness Processing 95% viewfinder .97 magnification 9 point af (All Cross Type) AF Fine Tuning Face Recognition AF ISO 100-3200 (Expansion to 6400, 12800) 14-bit image processing Auto CA correction In-Camera Anti-Shake 6.3 fps (high speed) 3fps (low speed) Buffer: 16 RAW - 60 JPG - 10 RAW+JPG 100,000 shutter life HDMI Output VGA LCD (920,000 pixel) I think the in-camera anti-shake is a wrong translation. If the site is still active, I am sure we'll be able to give a more accurate translation. However, the AF fine tuning is enough for me. I am getting one. ![]() 15MP? Yes, yes.... I know some people have the misconception about pixel density... but honestly I think it's the overall sensor performance that matters. Pixel peeping makes little sense. It's obvious the 50D is aimed squarely at the upcoming Nikon D90.

Don't see a need to upgrade for current 40d users.
Unless pissed with the lcd performance on 40d or the iso can really work well on 50d |

ISO 12800, In-Camera Anti-Shake and HDMI Output
With HDMI Output that mean we can view picture on full HD on 42" TV Any price indication?

In-Camera Anti-Shake on a new line?
What about their current IS range of lenses? Eradicate it ? interesting |

Expectations that is met: AF micro adjustment
Still only 2 shots exposure bracketing (not conducive for HDR shooting) Still only 9 pt AF (expected at least 15 or 20) Still no wireless control of external flash Not sure if auto ISO really works this time

Don't think it will be 15megapixels.
D60 6.3mp 10D 6.3mp 20D 8.2mp 30D (350D) 8.2mp 40D (400D) 10mp 50D (450D) 12mp? What do you think?

Hmm.. Does this mean that it is a good leap from 40D?? Or just stick to 40D will suffice..

Perhaps it's (again) the usual way just to get jokers like us in this forum and many elsewhere to spend our precious time discussing/dreaming something that is non-existent instead of shooting out there! (Think 5D II, 3D, 6D, etc etc.) |

If true this will be the ultimate birding camera....
1.6x crop - effective FOV multiplied by 1.6 15mp - good for cropping AF fine tuning - good for correcting back / front focusing lenses live view with 10x magnification - good to check that your focus is just right |

I think in camera anti shake is probably a wrong translation. I cannot see canon putting this feature in it's cameras at this point. What it probably should have translated in to should be sensor shake for dust reduction or something similiar....

In-camera IS is supposed to be in-lens IS instead.
50% more pixels than the 40D, that must mean its 50% better! ![]() Real test will be abt the image quality. left to be seen.
