Hi hi, I need comments on this photo. Does my picture look like I'm selling flowers? |

Nope, the attention goes to the food instead. The flower more or less act as a decor item only

Why is it posted in Canon thread?? The flower is kinda of distracting in the photo. Maybe you could try cropping it to minimize the distraction.

Which exposure metering did you use? The highlights on the food look blown while the exposure on the flower looks better. Might be caused by the dark colour of the table if you weren't using spot or partial.

The flower is not the problem, although I would place it behind instead of in front of the food... The real problem with this shot is that the upper part of the image has lots of blown highlights, very distracting and hurts the eyes to look at the image. Backlight is good for food, but try to not include the blown areas on your final image/crop.

Agree with mummum and peterjeana. Flower is quite imposing on image. Either place it behind the plate or use a flower that is either smaller or not as vibrant. Background is slightly messy. Maybe can shift the subject closer into the table so the background has the table covering the area.

From a newbie eye, the flower distracting. I guess only reason to first see the food is because we all like to eat. If seen by a botanist, probably see flower first
