Does anybody sell the rubber textured grip tape found on battery grips and camera bodies? The tape on my battery grip is wearing out, and when I enquired with Canon Service Centre, the part alone costs $80. $80 for the fricking textured grip!
Anybody knows where to buy? I'm going to DIY...

I haven't heard of any supplies in SG, and most of the listings on E-bay are for the batt grips itself.
You could try searching the inet ... especially looking for stores that sell materials for customisation or refurbishment. If it were me, and if cosmetics was important, I would explore different materials available from upholsters and craft shops. In the past, people used to trash the originals and use stuff as exotic as snake and croc skins for really special cameras. The most important part is finding out what adhesives to use that doesn't damage delicate electronics, or is corrosive. If cosmetics are not important, I would just re-glue and overlay with gaffer or something. |
