Default Canon 40D Shutter Speed on AV- Please help

I don't know if i change some settings on my 40D... i'm just wonder why my shutter speed blinking if reached or more than 1/250. This usually happens on day time or sunny day.

Before i can see some of my shots that my shutter speed is 1/350 or more using AV mode... or if i set my 580ex II to high speed but now, it cannot up to more than 1/250.

Do you know the settings to change.

Ally

thats your flash sync speed. As you mentioned it yourself, you can only go faster if you set your flash unit to H.

Otherwise, disable your flash.
