any idea of this lens? - check my signature and make a guess....
![]() pricing? - u can check ard the local shops..... is it good? - what can i say? for that price, it is awesome to me....though it may not produce a super sharp picture at the widest but at the size that i am viewing and printing my pic, it is great. good bokeh...but a bit soft on the F2.8 Versatile fast lens zoom range and future-proof (can use on full-frame cameras) and reasonably fast AF (though it hunts a bit on low contrast subjects). it is huge and buying a replacement filter will prb cost more...but the fact that i use it more than my kit lens (except for landscape shots) says a lot, doesn't it? in fact, my friend got it a couple of weeks later and the lens had never left his camera...haha the poor kit lens resigned to its fate in the dry box.... ![]() i speak too much now...but the time-tested advice....go and test the lens out at the shop in the situations u can foresee urself using it and decide if it is good enuff for u. good luck and have fun!

this is a Canon thread for canon users where we'll use it to discuss canon products(cameras & lenses) OR we will compare any third party lenses With a CANON lens ![]() try searching for the tamron/sigma/tokina thread. you'll have better results from there

I tested Tamron 28-75 and Sigma 24-70 while at the point of purchasing. I personally like the built of Sigma and the IQ is abit softer than Tamron's IQ but the built of Tamron feel like kit lens. But then again, Tamron filter size is 67 whereas Sigma is 82! What does it mean? It means you have to burn your pocket to invest filters for 82mm size.
It depend what kind of IQ or built and do you mind the 4mm (1.6x = 6.4mm) difference.

Sg24-70 - this is the lens I am seriously considering as I am gonna to migrate to FX very, very soon. Well, as for the 82mm filter, just need to get one for the protection. ![]()

found from reviews that 28-75 hunts more than the sig 24-70...
24-70 is soft at f2.8 but good for portraits.....not so good for macro... 82mm is a expensive buy...but i managed to get my lens with the normal (not pro-grade) UV filter for less than 800 bucks..and comes with 2 years warranty. but the 24-70 is prone to flare which i have not encountered yet..... anyway, the new HSM one is out....maybe u can consider...haha
