![]() Camera: Canon EOS 350D Digital Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 52 mm Start becoming serious about photography not long ago and I'm new here. Gonna take it seriously and ask for honest critique to learn more from the experienced ones here =) This photo was taken when my girlfriend was having a gigg over at Clarke Quay Central Square. Wanted to capture the very composed her when she sings to the mich. I intended to get a more out-of-focused background but can't seem to grasps it that well. Would like to hear any comments regarding the framing of the shot, or even anything other stuff that crossed your mind. Thanks all =) |

kinda like this shot yet don't really like it,i like the angle chosen, but not so much so for the timing, reminds me of music videos but in still rather than moving, other than that,on my screen, seems a tad underexposed.Probably could have used a telephoto lens to blur the background cause they have a shallower dof, rather than wide angle, from your focal length, think it's not long enough,my 2 cents

1) Why is she so far to the left?
2) She is hidden by the background, and the other mic with the white background is coming out more. Either zoom in a bit more or crop the mic out. 3) Underexposed on my screen here too, most probably due to the large white background on the right causing the exposure to be wrong. |

Background distracting. Your gf doesn't seem to do anything in particular, and that makes it a little pointless, too much space on the right. If your want bokeh just zoom in, move closer to her, much closer and snap. No use using wide angle when there's not much to capture elsewhere. Her skin is too dull, underexposed, even the background is more vibrant. Background is the thing that caught my glance at first. You can either move in closer, use a fill in flash or tweak your settings

ok.
like most of them have said, it's underexposed. and i feel she was awkwardly 'cut off' at the bottom, leaving much space on the top. i can't reali feel 'Wanted to capture the very composed her when she sings to the mich' as her hand was like... covering the mic stand? you could have tried a potrait shot, probably would have worked better. just my 2c ![]() |

Firstly i would say, there isn't any eye contact. Followed by all other issues other members here have brought out. You wanted to capture your gf here composed while singing. BUt the side view of this shows only her lips tight. Eye contact like someone focused towards the near end of the stage. looks like she is just rehearsing, then asking one of those ppl there, "like that ok?"
