To Canon 580EXII Users ...

anyone tried attaching a tripod to the screw thread hole of the 580EXII? It is surprisingly shallow and the flash falls off very easily.

i did it before i got a lightstand. didn't have any problems with it. maybe your screw is too short.

It seems quite shallow, but I dont think that's a manufacturing fault

yup, but the screw connector doesnt seem to "bite"
