actually #1 was straight-out-of-cam.. was a good timing, when the merlion was still lit, so no real need to blow out skies to reveal details on the grand dame

ahhh, no la, i don't have lightroom.. only good ol' cs2..

i think maybe because of the first time using urban acid on sunrise/sunset.. the color palette different.

makes for a good postcard shot....so tempting to go and try my luck at the same angle.....ahaha

your 3rd shot is cool too.....
did u use a super wide angle lens or stitched some shots together? u look pretty close to the railing....

Ahhh only early morning are you able to get a nice peaceful shot of the Merlion Else there's normally people everywhere.

I like #3 best, the choice of border and cropping also made it "movie-ish-
#2 seems like there is a bit of halo around the merlion. Not sure to say if the clouds are good or bad add-on to the pic, good that it adds dynamics, bad that it disrupts the nice color

these were taken with the sigma 10-20mm with 1.5x crop - so that's 15mm in 35mm film terms. is pretty wide.. no stitching done here, because i am bad at it.. #3 is a 16:9 crop of the original.

ah, yar, 16:9 crop is after all a "movie crop", as some will tell you.

yes, #2 is a tad overcooked i think, i have probably done the processing a little too fast. there is very slight haloing on the merlion, it is not so bad on the full size, but once resized it becomes more apparent. cheers, and thanks for the comments.
