No filters used. Relied on the brilliant Nikon TTL daylilght-balanced fill-flash. This also explains the slightly different exposures. I think for the first shot, the swans came too close (closer than minimum operating distance of my flash i guess.... this is 28mm) This is Snowdonia by the way, so I guess it qualifies as 'Landscape'

Thanks. I was lucky that tt-daylight balanced flash takes the guesswork out of flash settings. No chance to bracket because the swans never came back
