The groom looks like my secondary school friend. Hahaa such irony. I like the capture of the expression of the bride's eyes. (the one with the fan)

And to Octarine, I did not use light nor flash. M playing wif ISO's.
All pixs were taken using D80 wif 18-200 VR lense and were taken multiple shot of 3x
and in RAW mode. Theres no picture adjustments. Only crop.
Will send few pix later since im at work ...

nice first attempt shots

just a comment - the shots can be better enhanced if you blur out the distracting backgrounds (e.g., video man can be seen clearly behind in middle shot of first post)

but to be fair you are using the 18-200VR which does not have a constant wide aperture for you to blur the background... it's not really the best lens for a wedding shot if you are looking for great bokeh

so you may want to get a 85mm f1.4 or a 50mm f1.4 or one of the those fast zooms with constant f2.8

cheers!

yes. I agree wif you. tat man was a nuisance. I waited so very long for him to get off
from there. He still there ... shizz ...
Oh yes! I do have 50mm BUT f1.8 .
I'll use tat lense for the next invitation.
FUYOH! ... AF 85mm f/1.4D IF. tat baby cast me $1600. tat was way off my budget.
I'm keeping $ for my next body. D300. Gonna wait till price drop to 2k >
Anyways, kairospix, thanks for the tips. Will try using prime lense ...

Nice shots generally, though I do think many of them can be further improved with a tighter crop. Most of the time, a simple crop done correctly can dramatically improve the composition of an image.

But do note: Is the videographer in your way, or are you in his way?

For photographers, it's easy to move around and capture a subject from different angles. For the videographer on the other hand, he has to capture the whole thing in one continuous sequence. Was he a hired videographer? If so, then he definitely deserves the right of way. If both of you were officially appointed, then it's best to work together, instead of competing for space. Usually, it's best to stand beside the videographer to shoot.

Also, do be careful when people say you must get this lens or that lens. Unless you are going to be serious about wedding photography as a speciality, there's no need to invest in exotic specialist lenses. For beginners, I am a strong proponent of "work with what you have". When there's a certain restriction, sometimes that will force you to exercise your creativity more to get round a problem. Anyway, you already have a great lens - 50mm f/1.8, don't look down on it!

I'll try cropping them photos and will post it later.

I think he's a hired videographer. I never tot of moving cause its so crowded. And my aim was to snap them pix. Ayt. I'll move around next time.

to be fair to kairospix, i don't think he said copikau MUST get this lens or that lens as i believe if you read his post he said quote... "you MAY want to get..."

also he didn't know copikau has a 50mm f1.8... i think if he did he would have also encouraged copikau to make good use of that lens...

just my 2 cents worth of observation...
