Its not as simple as just reverse the motor to move in the other direction. Just imagine riding a motorcycle in reverse (more of a permanent mode), it harder to control, need to change the gearbox so that you have different gear ratio in reverse direction and also to re-engineer how to steer the bike.

You gotta belief in FS. I heard that when the MRT project started, it disrupted the "sleeping Dragon" in Singapore, thus causing the great recession in 1997. I also heard some FS master did something to nail down the Dragon tail to prevent it from leaving Singapore.
Actually FS aside, it makes more sense to have the Flyer turning the way it is turning now. I took the flyer when it first opened and my thoughts on it are. U start off the journey rising slowly and then you see the CBD, once the flyer turns to the other side... what one sees is the open sea and container ships and by then... you are wishing the ride will end soon....

Now it is better as you end off seeing the CBD and having the last image in your mind the CBD and not the sea with container ships.

    FS in action perhaps ...

The one dollar coin is inscribed with an octagon, which looks like a ba gua, a Chinese lucky charm. Feng shui masters are believed to have said that the construction of MRT tunnels through downtown Singapore would have an adverse effect; they recommended that every household display a bagua to negate this. Bearing in mind that there were many locals who did not adhere to this Chinese belief, this was not possible. Thus the design of the one dollar coin

even with good fengshui the Flyer needs more than wings to fly. why stop at feng shui, wad about indian & malay equivalents? so biased arh.

Yes, the evening really was so beautiful that day. It's funny how coffee shop uncles are so selective about their omens. It guess it's the old adage whatever goes down must come up. I'm optimistic about the future of Singapore even with the poor economic forecast.
