Took a bus from Shanghai to Zhejiang to this place called Xitang. Extracted the following description from Wikipedia about this place:
"It is level, densely distributed with rivers, and has a very quiet natural environment. With nine rivers converging at this town, dividing it into eight sections, there are many bridges linking it together. The modern city is like any other, however, in the older section of town, all the buildings face onto the canals, the true transportation system of the area. Boat tours are available for tourists." Here are the pictures: ... Architecture images: ... ... ...

Nice Series. But it should be 西塘 :)
Xi Tang has changed a bit in the past few years. I have been there three times from 2004 to 2006 during my summer vacation. Everytime i stayed there for 3 or 4 days, take photos, take rests, enjoy the food there. Very nice place.

Thanks Darcy for the correction of name and also for the taking time to view the pictures.
Have to agree that in spite of the hot weather, taking a stroll there, sitting down to sip a cup of tea by the river and occassionally enjoying the breeze can also be quite a relaxing experience. It clears the mind and relaxes the soul.

Very nice photos and good composition.
I hope that you will be able to get better lenses. The vignetting of your travel lens affects the quality of the shots, but certainly not on your creativity. |

Hi Fire Kirin,
Thanks for the compliments. Actually, the vignetting was done on PS. It was a personal liking, knowing that not all will like the effect. Thank you once again for taking the time to view them. Cheers, Daniel

Of course Tung,
I am sure of all the people I know, sipping tea by the river is definitely what you like to do best. Call me when you are in Shanghai. We will find a day to go to one of the ancient town (古镇) and just enjoy the surrounding! ![]()

Hi Fire Kirin, nothing about it. The PS filter for vignetting works pretty convincingly.
Ya, got to admit that vignetting does give a 'negative' effect to certain degree. Will try working on a different approach without the vignetting. Thanks again for dropping by. Dan
