    so have you bought urs?
haha... its a great lens but on smaller sized sensor. not recommended for FF becos it almost becomes a prime lens due to its vignetting. lol. the distortion is very very well controlled and the sides. i have some photos shooting at F8 or F16 and they are great. i did not edit the photos other than straightening. they are straight from the cam.

i took some group shots too with it and had no problems too. good thing is... at f2.8 it serves quite well as a indoor lens too.

i was using the sigma 10-20mm before getting the EF-S 10-22mm for my panos. Got my 10-22 last year around oct and all panos before that were shot using the 10-20 sigma. It provided me a good learning start point and the upgrade to the canon 10-22mm is well worth it as it gave me clearer and cleaner pics but then again, it's really up to the individual photographer to guage.

These are sigma 10-20mm all shot @ 10mm

The number of shots taken and used to stitch are the same. Note some are HDR so comparing them may not be fair.

i dun wan to sound like tokina salesman. hahaha.
final choice is still up to you.

but u have to find out the pros of the sigma and tokina.
sometimes they can outperform canon. plus these 3rd parties often pay more attention to smaller sized sensor users.

At that kind of focal length, you aren't going to see any DOF unless you are very very close to your subject. And I mean very very close.
