Default D100 - Preset White Balance

Any D100 user do setting for Preset White Balance before shooting?

From what I know, White Balance setting is to "TELL YOUR D100 or any Digital cameras" that what's white colour (white or grey???) under the enviroment you are shooting.

For D100, I read that a lot of users set to "Cloudy" for outdoor shooting. When comes to indoors, they change to the respective setting that D100 provide.

I know it's quite troublesome to do a presetting of WB, you have to get a white card & do the setting. However it's worth it to do WB on Preset mode. Take about 1 min.

If you forget to change WB when change of environment (fluorescent to incandescent), your photo tends to be a bit reddish. Then you got a couple more steps to do for editing.

Anyone like to share?

How about shooting in NEF? If u got the space for it, use it. Not so much worries about WB anymore.

I do use cloudy -2 or -3 for outdoors. For indoors, i normally use auto if the lighting is mixed, or flash if the subject is going to be lit mainly by the flash gun.

But 90% of my shooting is NEF, so.....
