I have a slr-like olympus SP570,
it have many manual setting/ function on it, can this act as slr ?any comment ? would this 10mp slr-like produce slr quality? tx |

if it is the same photographer behind both a DSLR and a DSLR - like camera, then the answer would be no
but on certain situation where great DOF is needed the DSLR - like camera will be easier to use

Technically speaking, it cannot act as an SLR as long as it does not have a reflex mechanism inside to reflect what you see thru the lens to your viewfinder via pentaprism/pentamirror.

Just to add.. which would mean that the camera will be using the same sensor for preview, autofocus and capturing the image, so the AF would be slower and shutter lag longer than a true DSLR.
