Just got wind of this...

If that's true about the wifi module, that's another camera the press photogs will be craving after.

IMHO, the cameras nowadays are getting toooooo complicated to use.

It's for making your cup of tea and whispering sweet gossip about it's successor the D3H, when you're slacking and bored of stroking it when you really shooting be making good use of it.

Pure speculation on my part here - read on other forums that the add-on is a wireless module supporting (at launch) 802.11b for transmission of image data.

As a module, it then logically applies that the wireless transmission tech can be upgraded as and when available/required (802.11g, 802.11a, Bluetooth, Wi-Max).

Besides image transmission, perhaps camera/flash control can be done wirelessly as well (clue: the "add-on" on the SB-800 flash may be a wireless module as well). Thus you can have situation where:-

Note that this is pure speculation on my part here - for all I know, the add-on module may be a Tele-Dildonics Feedback Module which vibrates when the camera thinks you have taken a keeper shot. (and can also act as anti-vibration device in gyroscopic mode to counter-act your shaking hands when taking scantily-clad models).

I think this camera looks awful. But I don't mind having one.

So what are you not supposed to say? Didn't your supposedly reliable source say that the new camera is going to be full frame? Reference here.

And I'm sure the phrase "but I'm smiling" has been taken by me too. Reference here
