Hi,
Not sure if I'm the only, but I had a chance to handle a F5 with a 28-85. The F5 was loaded with 8 alkaline AAs. The whole rig did not feel heavy as I had imgained. I use a F100 and it felt as if both were equal in weight. I know that the F5 (w/o batts) weighs in at 1.2kg and the F100 is only 785g. Something wrong with my sense, or I'm not alone? chgoh |

I have handled the F5 for years now. I can tell you the feel is very good and it makes a difference when taking at slow speed. Don't have F100 but I can feel difference compared to the F80. I still use F5 for a lot of my important shots. I normally use lithium batteries as they are a lot lighter than the alkalines especially a set of 8! BTW if you mount the F100 with its vertical grip the weight difference is much less but the feel is different ie F5 more solid and excellent balance.

my F5 surely feels alot more solid than my 601,Handled the F100 once and it feels very solid too. Both feel about the same weight to me,not much difference there.
i use an optech camera strap for my F5,works great ! |

weight is ccertainly different! But I feel likewise too! I think it's the total balancing & the grip of F5 that make it not weight like so.
But I'm hoping to try out F100 with a vertical grip soon. wonder will the weight factor be more balance! |
