D80 pricing has dropped alot

Heard that D80 kit lens with flash light is now on promotion for $1,388. Is this price reasonable?

sb600 is selling for $350 alone. that's quite a deal imho.

Was at Orient Photo on Friday...The person there quoted me $1,350 for the D80 kit.

But as he was busy with someone else, I didn't have the chance to ask what were the freebies that came along.

One month ago, I asked John 3:16 and they quoted me $1,520 for D80 kit, with free bag, tripod and strap.

thats a really really good price. i mean it ! haha ... ppl at BNS selling at 1000 also got ,,, its like buy brand new plus flash.

Just curious which shop did you ask? I had called a few shop like MS colour and AP or other shop today, they give me the price around $1520 for D80 with kit and flash SB-600. So I wonder which shop give this $1388 price. Please do advise. Thanks!

$1520 with GST or without? If with GST then should be a bargain.. Wondering how much if bought from HK?

I forget to ask if the price included the GST but might be excluding the GST which could be $1627. I don't think it is a grey set as these shops are quite popular. Well, cameras are really not for investment but just like car and computer that depreciate in value very fast. I saw one thread that AP offer $1380 for D80 with kit. Well, I had went to Vision 1 opposite the Sim Lim Square near the DBS ATM to ask and they offer D80 with kit for $1288. It is really an attractive price but I dare not buy because they are not listed in the Nikon website for authorized dealers.

Popular doesn't mean they won't sell grey set. Orient was known to sell grey sets but they are open about it and most regulars know. They have since began selling local warranty sets as well.

Better check properly before you buy, least later regret.
