Default D200 Battery Contact Problem

Hey all,

the d200 i am using has problems with the battery contact and the contacts in the camera. When i slot in the battery when it has full power, sometimes it goes to no power( i know it goes to 1bar or shows no power because of the contact problem.

So i connect the mbd200 battery grip to it, still has that same problem. So its very obvious the camera contacts are out of place. I will like to know how much nikon will charge( Hopefully not) if i send it for JUST TO SHIFT THE CONTACTS in the camera properly.

Been using this for 1 year plus, didnt had any problems at all. This problem came out suddenly. What i do now to minimise the problem is that i pick up twigs from the ground and place it at the door if the battery.(To push up the battery nearer to the contacts, and then i latch it normally.) Well, it helps to reduce the No Power glitch, it can be very irritating when u are waiting for soemthing, and it just wont fire just because of the lose contact or alignment problem. Sometimes, it still happens when i place a twig.

Just hop NSC wont charge me..........................

Any comments?

i think it might be the dreaded Nikon "dead battery syndrome". you can do a search online about it. there's many people who are having the same problem and they offer various solutions that you can try. if all else fails, then send it in to Nikon, although some stories on the other forums say that even Nikon doesn't know how to fix the problem and the 'fixed' cameras usually start exhibiting the problem again shortly after return from servicing.

I face the same problem too. When you aim high , the contact will lose . So fold a thin layer of a paper, insert on the back of the battery cover to tighten up .Guarantee work

seems liek a common problem in pro bodies but not in entry level ones. Will Nikon Charge for their camera fault?
