Default Crack in mounting foot of SB-28

anyone experienced a similar problem?

Their are 2 cracks in the plastic mounting foot of my sb 28...where the hotshoe contacts are located. think i must have been a bit too violent in removing it from the hotshoe. the flash still works properly tho but it seems a bit shaky. m jus worried that it might break off one day.

could this mounting foot be replaced? or fixed? any suggestions/help?

thanks a lot!!

Be careful. Mine actually snapped on the day before a wedding assignment. Thankfully I was able to borrow one in short notice. It will cost about $40 to replace it at TCW.

SB80DX comes with a metal foot, which should be a lot more durable.

I managed to break hotshoes on my SB flashes twice - once a football, the other a drop. Shriro replaces the hotshoe while you wait for $25 if I remember correctly.

Read that it's design to break there as the weakest point..
