Post Corrupt CF Card???

Hi

I am seeking advice..

This few months my CF card (Sandisk extreme III 8Gb or 2Gb) has been giving me lots of problem while I am using it on my D70s. After taking a few photos, I suddenly cannot view the photos on the camera or the camera suddenly cannot read the card and show "CHR" or "E" even though the card has been working properly for the past few shots...

Sometimes this problem does not happen at all for many shots and many shootings....

This has caused me to loose lots of photos and I have even resort to formating my CF card everytime before I use it.

Anyone has similar experience and can share what the problem is and the solution??

Send your camera in to Nikon for servicing. I had the same problem on my D70s. They fixed it by changing some board. My suggestion is to leave the error on and show it to them at the service centre.

How much is it to get it repaired?

Yes. BBB is a "good" virus.

Just remove the "S" from your D70... and add the number "0" plus the two alphabets "FX" and you are set.

I sometimes got card error too with my sandisk II. And the display even says 'FOR' as in formatting. Scared the *#$ of me. Turn off and on the camera still no use. The trick is turn off, remove the card, REMOVE the battery and put them back. It shld be ok.
