KUYT KEANE ON ROBBIE SWOOP
Dirk Kuyt is hoping Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez can wrap up the signing of Robbie Keane from Tottenham.
Reds boss Rafael Benitez is a confirmed admirer of the Irish striker and there have been reports the big-money deal is on the verge of completion.
Keane's arrival would provide Kuyt with more competition up front - though he carved himself out a niche on the right flank last season - but the Dutchman is hoping Benitez gets the deal done.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "Keane has played for many years in the Premier League and he has done really well with Spurs and is a massive player for them.
"We all know how well he did for Spurs last season and if he could do the same for us if he came here he would be a great signing.
"When you are at a club like Liverpool you expect the club to be linked with top players and of course you want players like Keane because they can come in and do a good job.
"It would make competition for places even tougher, but that's the way it should be because it brings out the best in you.
"We are always looking at the papers to try and find out what is going on and we expect a few more signings but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see."

Edwin McClare was challenged by his son to a heading competition. The idea was to see who could keep the ball up in the air the longest, without letting it touch the floor.
After half an hour, Edwin McClare began to get a headache, and quit the challenge. After taking some paracetamols everything returned to normal and there were no ill effects.
