Teleconvertors for Tokina

Hi

I am new to photography so any help is appreciated. I am thinking of getting the Tokina 70-200mm F2.8 lens. U guys have any recommendations as to what brand of teleconvertors to get? 1.4X or 2X? What prices are these? Do u attach the lens directly to the teleconvertors? I am using a DSLR. Thanks.
