Default Stray Cats

My photography has mainly revolves around flash & close-up/portraits. To expand my photography, I'm starting to go into wider and natural light photography. These are what i managed to get today. Don't think I did well^^;

Edit: Not looking for C&C, just sharing the shots^^

Not a cc but I like how you work with existing light to present the cats a little differently

Mastering both flash and natural light aren't easy. I'm no talent, that's why I took abt 1+yrs to understand how to use flash. So most likely I'll take another 1+yr to take nice shots with natural. Just a process for me, trying to improve one step at a time.

Cats are easier to find unlike stray dogs

if u no talent then im hopeless ... anyway i foresee less than 2 months i will get to see beautiful pics..

natural light is abit harder, cos its hard to understand light, seems easy, but is not easy, think u got it, but its more to it...i done so many portraits with natural light, its very hard to get it right... but if u get it rite, the images i dare say is almost perfect...

Nice pics... I'm curious why you said you did not do too well? What are you looking for in future natural light pics?

Just trying to learn. Posting my strays photos soon. Newbie

The angle and the use of shadow mainly. I'm not used to taking wide shows, so the shots don't look as natural as it should. To me they look stiff, restricted and "fake" to an extend.

To me (not that I'm right or anything), using natural light should reflect a natural mood kind of shot. It somehow tells a story. A good mix of exposure, shadows and maybe softness. Unlike my usual shots of vibrate bright colors, cheerful, close-up shots.^^;

Hope u get what I mean^^

What i'm working towards is without use of flash or reflector. Think mix of street photography and wedding photography. Still trying to explore with the time I have.

Thanks... I think I get what you mean. In which case, I'm guessing that #2 is the closest to what you are trying to achieve? I like the shadows and lighting in that one.

Great shots. Makes mine look quite erm... flat. Just posting 2 series now.
