Question Sigma EF 530 DG Super for P-TTL

Hi all

Has anybody used or using the above flash with K10d? I am looking for a flash and am considering this one and also AF540 fgz from Pentax, but there is a sizeable price difference between the two, without any major difference in features. In fact, the Sigma one seems to be better!

Just wanted to know whether anybody has used the Sigma flash, and if so, whether you can provide any help on the pros/cons vs the Pentax AF 540.

Thanks a lot in advance,

I am using it. I don't have 540 and i can't say pros/cons (leave it to big brothers).
It is the first flash i ever own and i love it.
Work well with K10d and never disappoint me.

On K10D Pentax flash will be better. AF-540FGZ is more powerful than Sigma 530. Build wise Sigma 530 feels more solid. If you aren't going to use flash often, I suggest getting the Sigma 530 is sufficient. But if you are like me, the only option will be AF-540FGZ as the main flash. Unless we get Metz support here, I suggest you don't risk getting one from overseas.

Sigma EF 530 DG Super can P-TTL sync with Penatx (360 & 540) and Metz (48 & 58) with no problem. EF 500 DG Super may have problem though.

Metz can only be adjust by EV, Pentax has the ratio with EV, Sigma I recall is similar to Metz. But all can be trigger P-TTL by on-board flash.

If anyone looking for a used Sigma flash, should really consider this;
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...TTL_Flash.html

It may not sync well in wireless mode, but at abt US$120 (include shipping), it's a good buy.

Edit: Do write in to confirm it is the super version as what was stated and not the standard version^^;
