$2000 aint going to be enough for the lens system.

Anyway, the 5700 refers to Nikon CP5700. At $2000, it is a big budget and you have plenty of options.

Depending on what you will be using it for, the Canon G3/G5, the CP5700 and the Fuji Pinepix 602Z are all worthy contenders.

Suggest you set aside at least $150-$200 for the extra accessories which you need to get. This means extra compact flash (CF) cards, extra rechargeable batteries, charger, and a tripod.

As usual, do try out the cameras, read the reviews and user comments before you make any purchase. If possible, try to get someone knowledgeable to go with you to buy.

    Nikon CP5700 $1500
    Battery Pack $160
    256MB CF $110
    Tripod $50
    12 AA Batteries + Charger = $70
    Camera bag $70
    Filters : Random ~$50

Total: $2010. Cool. Now I know I definitely spent much more then this when I bought my setup.

    FujiFilm 602z $1000
    256MB CF $110
    Tripod $50
    8 AA + Charger = $60
    Camera bag = $70
    Filters : Random ~$50

    Total: $1340

    Cheap and good setup.
