Default Basic portrait lighting help (B&W)

I'm a total newbie when taking indoor portraits (mainly b&w). Can you all recommend a good basic setup? I have nikon D80, 28-200VR lens,Sigma Ef 530 Flash & UV filter,What other accessories do i need ?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

It is not so much the accessories that help you take good photos. You have decent gear. Go and practice with what you have instead of getting caught up with finding out what else to buy.

Before looking at set-ups, look for references of 'Portrait lighting', 'portrait lighting techniques' and 'Understanding light in photography'.

Once you understand and go through these tutorials and exercises, you would probably be in a much better position to determine what equipment you need ... later on.
