Default Lens Cleaner

I posted this at the main forum but not much reply...

I'm looking for PROCLENS but can't locate any in CP, OP and AP. Anyone know where I can get one? Or you have other good recommendations? I prefer those liquid spray type. PROCLENS seems to be the best I've tried. Thx

Isopropyl alcohol from Guardian Pharmacy at $3.50 for a 120ml bottle works just as well.

IPA is abit dangerous imho cos its quite strong and you may not know whether it actually reacts with the lens coating. U shd try geting eclipse cleaning soution and pecpad wiping sheets - these are mainly for very stubborn stains. Remember each cleaning done on the lens actually poses a risk of damaging it. Usually I use the brush of the lenspen to clean off dust and grime. Just keep brushing and the lens will be polished clean. Quite a safe option i would say. The cleaning tip of the lenspen may however pose a danger if there are grits of sand or particle on it.

scorpioh, isopropyl alcohol is what is used in optical factories. The one from Guardian is 70%.
I have used it for more than 2 decades without any problems...

Alcohol is quite good for fungus too! Once I had a HMC filter infected with fungus. I couldn't clean it off with normal cleaning solution. With alcohol the fungus came right off.

Creampuff is right. I used the ISA and it works wonders on my filters. Now to try on lens

i see. But still have to caution against the media used for wiping. Best to use lint/grit free material.

I've been using this solution for several years now, quite happy w/ it:

The Eclipse cleanser and Pec Pad lint-free paper tissue combo work the best for me. You can get them from many camera shops.
