Default Are the reviews at DCresource, DPreview and Cameras uk any good?

Hi all,

I am new to the community and have been reading up on cameras reviews. I came across some of the sites. Not sure if they are of any good and unbiase. Would appreciate some experts comments or suggestion on other good references.

http://www.dpreview.com/

thanks

the top 2 are quite detailed in their explainations.

but dcresource seems to be favouring canon a bit better than other brands and their iso night shots with canon is mostly taken with one of their own L lens where else the other brands are taken with kit lens instead.

dpreview in recent years is starting to branch away from canon as they realised that other brands are closing up the gap in technology already.
hardly can go wrong with cams that are highly recommended by dpreview cos they state the cons of each cam so that you understand the flaws better before going for it.

dont underestimate the flaws both website state in their reviews cos they will bound to affect you in the future one way or the other.

DPreview is generally good...

second only to CS.

Here, we have "real users' feedbacks".

i only use dpreview and imaging resource

but take note, even these have an obvious slant, so READ THE DETAILED REPORT

and decide for yourself, do not read the conclusion, this is where all the slants and bias will shine through, sometimes even when the strengths are good they will downplay it and emphasize the faults. for whatever reason, well, these sites are still commercial. cheers.

Can read reviews but then must use own initiative to go to shops to "feel" the cams you are interested in to know what you want.

It's basically all one man's opinion. Take it with a pinch of salt.
