Sony Alpha 350 professes to shoot 2.5fps in fine JPEG burst mode.
http://www.popphoto.com/cameras/5234...ics-page3.html Just out of curiosity, how fast should the CF card be to enjoy such a burst rate? It would also be helpful if a simple breakdown of the types of CF cards could be made as far as the transfer rate is concerned, as there are so many types of CF cards around. Thank you in advance. With regular speed cards (50-80x), you can still shoot 2.5fps, but I am not sure how many frames you'll get before the buffer gets maxed out.
With medium speed cards (133x Kingston Elite Pro II, for example), you'll get 2.5fps till your card runs out of space. Admittedly though, I've never bothered to test it to that limit. Shorten shutter lifespan only. Will let update again once I get back my A350 I lent to someone else.

it also depends on whether did you enable DRO Advanced when doing burst shots as the camera slows down to process the images captured thus affecting the burst speed.
i'm now using kingston 133x CF card on my A200 & it does a pretty good job when it comes to saving burst shots as the camera is able to clear it's buffer quickly when DRO is set to 'standard'.
