I had a lobang which offer me SGD330 for the above len. I'm a newbie and need advise from you all. I just bought mine Canon 450D which come with the standard kit 18~55mm. Is this lens good enough for everyday and travel use?

its a good walk around lens with good range.. but very bad with low light unless u use flash.
auto focus hunts in super bright and dim environments apart from that it has a rather nice DOF and the colors are beautiful.. $350 for the lens is a good price.

oh n forgot to add this lens is very prone to handshake.. so if ur use to the IS feature in ur 18-55 then this is not the lens for u esp between 70-200 lens is very very prone to handshake best use using tripod!

In terms of sharpness, the EF-S 18-55 IS beats it hands down. To me, 18-250 is indeed a very versatile range but you'd have to live with compromised image quality especially at 250mm.

If u want a good walkabout, try to get a pns with ur 3++. more compact, more versatile, and a sec body in case dslr fail. Save ur $$$ bro....
