am going to say that for non-hdr, i only like #6
anyways, for hdr, #1 is a much better composition than #2, you don't need the massively boring sky in #2. giantcanopy is right in that the really weird lighting present in the photo, which gives the picture a wrong feel, i.e. that something is wrong but you cannot really tell what unless you know what to look for. other than what he has mentioned, there is also the point that the buildings are giving off a distinct halo, and the light is coming from behind, but they are lit too well. a good hdr should actually look like the 0 ev in this situation (typically camera metering will give you the sky with a bit of shadow detail) with significantly more shadow detail. the lighting ratios on each area should be the same though, i.e. the brightest areas should remain the brightest. the darkest areas should still be the darkest. when they start changing and mutating then something is wrong. for #3, this is overdone. and much too bright and saturated. have fun with hdr. ![]() |

or you can try dynamic photo hdr. when you find that you like one of these better, buy them. it is a good investment if you are interested in hdr. |

i tried the photomatix trial version.
wht i usually do is start with the "merge with HDR" from CS3 then proceed with photomatix plug-in. the color is it come from the saturation setting in photomatix? i use a very high saturation value ard 75, but still the color doesnt punch out. while in the original image with 0ev, the color are more colorfull. can give some advice bro? |
