Anyone have any experience with Imedion life span. I got 500 ++ flash with bounce and stofen before I notice a 1- 2 sec lag in the recharge time. Not too sure whether the battery is dying soon or the protection circuit kick in. Anyway, I just change the batteries and they felt warm.

500+ shots seem to be correct. If you're using it indoors with low-light, then it explains why more power is needed.

My record on a set of eneloops is 900+ shots before it becomes completely drained. Used indoors at ETTL mode.

It's true. I was shooting Big Boyz Toys last year and started with a set of fully charged Eneloops and died at 928 shots.

That's nice. A toy convention? Should've been pretty lighted up adequately already right?

Nope, it's more of a mature exposition. Lighting is still a bit low though.

What has 2nd-curtain sync have to do with slower recharge?

Slower recharge = lack of power from batteries
lack of power from batteries -due to the fact that-> 2 main flashes (1 pre, 1 2nd curtain) are going off?

I went through two to three sets of eneloops and ReCyko normally - around 1000 shots.

The difference between 1st and 2nd curtain sync is that for 1st curtain sync, the flash fires right after the shutter opens, while for 2nd curtain sync, the flash fires right before the shutter closes, the latter of which is more suited for catching motion trails. |
