The review wasn't very kind to the 5000.
Very obvious the reviewer rates the 707 higher.

from the test shots the Coolpix is obviously softer.. thats why he gave it a bad review, slow lens, limited zoom, noise levels compared to other competitors...

CP5k caters to a very specific group of people. This area is lacking by all competitors. Namely

1. 28mm wide angle lens
2. small size power pack DC
3. Excellent color rendition & matrix metering

Consumers who are looking for wide angle and a compact DC with a power punch hv not much choice but to choose CP5k.
