Currently I just bought a tokina 100mm, but i dun really like the focusing speed.
I thought of selling away to get the Canon 100mm with USM, its it a good idea? ![]() |

i got the canon 100mm, think is faster only by a bit more. btw do u use it for macro or portrait? if for macro, think u can take yr time to focus..
if for portrait then sell n buy canon lol if speed is yr concern. |

Get the EF 100 f/2.8 Macro USM, you will not regret ! Super sharp lens
Build quality and focusing speed trumps the Tamron too.

i don't bash the tokina for ;
1.) slow AF since i use MF most of the times. 2.) for its lack of IF since most of the times, the lens barrel are fully extended. 3.) sharpness... i don't see a diff. you can either sell away your tokina for a knock down price and lugi much, or learn to appreciate it ![]() one thing i have difficulty doing with the toki is to capture a bee in flight, i wonder with USM, will it make a significant difference hehe |
