What's the availability status and local source of a remote cable release for the K20D? I don't want an IR remote, but a cable one that can be used with bulb mode.
I asked J3:16 yesterday, and Sam said that they could order it for $50-60 or so. Does the price seem reasonable? Anywhere else I can get it quickly? Any other model/brand remote that will work properly with the K20D? Info appreciated. ![]()

You can get this one for $20:
http://store.tagotech.com/product_in...products_id=95 It's from PQ23: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4135326 Our Pentax dSLR cameras use the same cable release as the Canon 350D one ![]() |

If you are refering to the Pentax cable switch CS-205. I don’t think any of the shops here sells it. The Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3 can be used on Pentax DSLR and works as well also as they are using the same jack. I have both Pentax cable switch CS-205 and the Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3. If you want something small, get the Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3. There are some third party cable remotes that are suitable and cheaper also which fengwei have pointed out.

Or just make one. http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/p...your-k10d.html
It's incredibly simple, too bad I only saw this after I bought the tagotech cable release, otherwise I'd definitely have tried. |

![]() ![]() Made out of a Motorola handsfree set and a used switch. Works pretty well. Actually I still prefer this DIY one even after I got the OEM one One reason is it's smaller, the other reason is it's DIYed ![]() |

http://www.photokaki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16709 http://martybugs.net/photography/remote.cgi (with lots of links at the end of the page. I made my remote switch using a computer mouse (black Logitech), removed the ball and put in a switch for bulb exposure. The two mouse buttons I have used for Right = AF, Left = Shutter. Works great and the mouse cable is long enough. Costs: $2 for the mouse (SLS), $1.50 for the switch, 1h work (ok, I took my time). This works instantly, no delay for normal shoots. I also got this IR trigger from a fellow CSer for $10. This has a 2s delay. |
