Default Home made hot shoe cover........

    Hi All......

Here is a documentation of how to make yor own flash hot-shoe cover.....made for canon but i think nikon hotshoe should fit....

This concept was initiated by IAN. I evercame across his post describing using a canister to cover the hotshoe. As i am a minolta user...i did not bother to try.

Now that i am using a canon camera which needs a hot shoe cover.....i made the cover yesterday as it seem that its bad to have the connector points exposed to rain.....

    regards,
    SULHAN

    - THANKS IAN for the great idea.....

Sulhan, nice illustration of a classic bit of my DIY .. am impressed.

Just for the record, I'm probably not the first person to do this, but I've been doing it since the early-mid 70s and still do it today as I'm !@#@%'d if I'm paying 10 bucks for a 1 cent bit of plastic

For those wondering where to get cannisters .. try your local Kodak mini lab..

    Finally...... the 'good cannister guide"

#1 - Ilford B/W cannisters (thick black plastic)
    #2 - Kodak black cannisters.
#3 - Fuji clear cannisters .. very flexible plastic but a bit thin
#4 - Fuji brown cannisters .. don't colour match with most bodies!
#5 - Konica film cannisters - hard to find.
